How To Use This Blog

If there is anything you would like to see added to this "How to Use" section to make using our blog easier, please let us know by commenting after any blog article, or by contacting us through the "Contact Us" link in the list at the left of your screen.

Cookies - We do not use cookies in any of our postings.

Screen Resolution - For tablets and cell phones resolution is set by the device so don't worry about that. For laptops and PCs this blog is best displayed if your screen resolution is at least  1280x768. For a PC, usually this can be set if you right click on an empty area of the startup screen (the one where all your icons appear) and selecting screen resolution from the little box that pops up. For a Mac, check your owners manual.

How to find older articles - There is a Blog Archive feature at the right side of your screen that allows you see the titles of the current month's articles and to read articles from previous months and years. Under the Blog Archive heading you will see the years listed and a small triangular "arrow" to the left of  the year. If you move your cursor over the arrow or the text next to it the cursor will turn into a hand with a finger pointing up. If you click on the year area the finger is pointing to it will expand the list and show you the months that contain articles listed there. If you click on a month it will show you the articles posted during that month. If you click on an article's title it will display the full article.

Join to be a Follower (optional) -

You do not have to join or sign in to leave a comment. See Commenting below.

The benefits of joining are that when a new article is posted it will be emailed to you, and you will not have to type in a Word Verification word when you leave a comment, plus you will be able to receive automatic notification via email if a comment by someone else is made on the same article where you left a comment.

Commenting - Comments may be added to a blog article in the following way:

All comments are monitored before allowing them to remain posted. Please do not click on any link you see included in a comment. I can almost guarantee the link is a spam link.

If you have any questions or comments about anything that you would like to share with us please feel free to do so in the comments area of our articles. Don't worry about being off topic. Any question or comment is welcome on any of the article's.

If you don't Join or sign in, you may make a comment Anonymously as explained below.

If you don't have a Profile ID, or don't want to create one, or just wish to remain anonymous then select Anonymous from the bottom of the Dropdown list of profiles mentioned below.
At the bottom of each day's article you will see a number followed by the word comments in red. The number indicates the number of comments others have already made on the article. To add your own comment click on the word comments and you will be presented with a popup box to type your comment into.  You don't have to join this site or be signed in to make a comment.

At the bottom of the comments popup box you will see a small box labeled Comment as:. If you have signed in to the blog, this small box will contain the Profile ID you used to sign in and you may continue to step 3 below.  If you didn't sign in, this box will contain the words Select Profile...  On the right side of this box is a small arrow pointing down. If you click on that arrow you will get a drop down list of Profiles you can use to identify yourself, or to be Anonymous. Select the Profile type you belong to.
When you have finished typing your comment and selected a Profile type you may either click on the Preview button to review your handiwork or click on the Publish button to add your comment to the blog article.  If you had previously signed in, you're done, if you had not signed in, but chose anonymous for your profile, you will be prompted to enter a Word Verification word. I know it's inconvenient, but it keeps automatic spam programs out of the blog.   Word verification is being temporarily suspended. When you click Publish your comments will be be available immediately. I'm sorry to say that the spammers have found us and I have to re-implement word verification on comments

Also, as a matter of blogger etiquette, please include your name at the end of your comments (unless you really have a reason to stay anonymous.)

email Notifications - If you would like to get emails whenever anyone submits a comment to a blog article you've commented on, you may select that by clicking on Subscribe by email located at the bottom of the comments popup box. However, this will only work if you have signed in with a valid ID. Otherwise, we won't know who to send the email to.
Writing Blog Articles - We would like to encourage you to write a blog article.  If you would like to write a blog article please use the "Contact Us" link at the right side of your screen to make arrangements with the camp staff.
